Our Story
Solara started the way many good tools do—out of frustration with the existing options.
The Problem
In 2023, our founders were running a small market garden in Vermont. Every winter, they'd spend weeks with spreadsheets trying to plan the coming season—calculating succession dates, rotating crops, and trying to predict harvest windows.
The tools that existed were either built for massive industrial farms (and priced accordingly) or were simple garden planners that couldn't handle the complexity of a real production operation.
The Solution
We built Solara for ourselves first—a tool that actually understood how small farms work. Successions that repeat weekly. Beds that need rotation tracking. Harvest data that helps you decide what to grow more (or less) of next year.
We shared it with other farmers at our local market. They wanted it too. And that's how Solara became a real company.
Today
Today, over 4,600 farms across 38 states use Solara to plan their seasons. We're still a small team, still based in Vermont, and still deeply connected to the farming community we serve.
Every feature we build starts with a real problem from a real farmer. We're not interested in building technology for technology's sake—we want to help you spend less time planning and more time growing.
